#ATLgivesback
Last fall, we finally made it to Atlanta for a full week of role model interviews! It's a beautiful and smart city that's been on our wish list for far too long. The experience was everything we imagined it would be and more.
First, we'd like to thank some wonderful collaborators who helped make this video shoot a tremendous success. Durga Ramachandhiramani and Katie Bowden, from Young Women in Bio's Atlanta chapter, helped us identify most of the amazing, fantastic, successful and inspiring women we interviewed during our week long stay. Durga also helped to secure a filming location by working with Tiffany Wilson Karp, Executive Director of the Global Center for Medical Innovation, who generously allowed us to film at her facilities for six days straight. Many thanks to her entire team!
Atlanta was perfect for us. The city is all about diversity and inclusion and it was awesome to be able to showcase that spirit as reflected in the women role models who shared their stories with us.
Of course we'd like to give a very special shout out to all of the Atlanta role models who participated:
Alita Anderson, Helene Gayle, Keisha Perry, Danella Kareema Barr, Ramana Hannigan, Nina Renner-Thomas, Susan Booth, Marsenia Harrison, Imelda Reyes, Katie Bowden, Renee Hill-Sweet, Stacy Shuker Reece, Erica Bozeman, Shacara Johnson, Latoya Simmons, Maryam Borumand, Sara Khalek, Andrea Smith, Anne Collins-Smith, Eloisa Klementich, Dionna Thomas, Anne Archer Dennington, Beverly Martin, Shauna Williams, Sherry Farrugia, Susan Nicholas, Tiffany Wilson Karp, Kiara Felder, Joanna Pendergrass
For all of you who haven't yet seen the finished interviews, they can be viewed in their entirety on both our CareerGirls.org website and our Career Girls YouTube channel.
A great introduction to the women can be had on this special compilation video "29 Things Every Girl Should Know"
Another great way to meet these role models is on this playlist featuring a "60 Seconds With" video for each of them.
We also need to give a special shout out to Dr. Eloisa Klementich and her staff at Invest Atlanta for graciously hosting our video viewing party in April and together with Theia Washington, for making it possible for the City Council to recognize of all the Atlanta Role Models during their May 4, 2015 session.
Thanks Atlanta, for being a dream come true city!
