I read a terrific post about staying safe on campus that is a must for college students and those who love them. You can read Michele Rigby’s outstanding blog post for the Feminine Collective here. Michele, a retired CIA officer and international management consultant, shares great advice on maintaining your personal safety.

Reading her post reminded me of my time on campus and how my female student friends instituted a buddy system to protect ourselves from assault. Basically, if we went out together, we all had to return together. No one could separate from the group – for any reason.

As a former Girl Scout, I truly believe in being prepared, but I also hope you or a loved on never needs to follow this advice.
