Welcome to the Career Girls Blog!
Each week we’ll feature posts from Career Girls Role Models, Thought Leaders and Trail Blazers from a variety of professions and all walks of life. As the founder and Executive Producer of Career Girls, I’ve had the extraordinary privilege of already interviewing over 250 amazing women for this project. I am humbled by their enormous success and generosity of spirit in sharing their experiences to help young girls.
To kick things off, here are just four of the many things I learned:
1) Find your passion. This is the one piece of advice that I heard most often. Not only will your life be more enjoyable, you'll be more successful because you'll have the extra edge and motivation that comes with loving what you do.
2) Stand up. Speak up. Share your ideas and don’t be afraid to ask questions. A diversity of perspectives is critical to finding the best solutions. So why not share and contribute your knowledge?
3) Success comes in all shapes, sizes, backgrounds, races, and ethnicities. This will be very obvious to even a casual viewer of our diverse interviews. Anyone can achieve his or her goals with hard work, discipline, integrity and determination.
4) Dream big. Don’t limit yourself or let anyone put you in a box. Many of our role models were told they should not, or could not, do or accomplish something. Guess what? They didn’t listen.
I'm excited to see what our future bloggers have in store for us over the coming year.
