Self Confidence
Having self-confidence is a major part of starting and excelling in a career. With the rise of social media, it may seem hard to live up to society’s standards. The first thing to realize is that everything you see is not reality. Most images and stories we are shown have been manipulated by some means. The second thing is to not worry about what you see, but to focus on how you feel. If you focus on the external, you will never see yourself for the true person you really are.
Self confidence isn’t always something you are born with. It fluctuates throughout life, and that’s ok. Your teen years can be some of the hardest. It helps to join a team or surround yourself with like-minded people who can boost your confidence when you’re down. One way to overcome low self-confidence is to take it step by step; it’s a process, not a race. Start by doing something that makes you feel uncomfortable and puts you outside of your comfort zone. For example, talk to a new person. Try on that shirt you thought you could never pull off. Or join a club you thought you never would. To build self-confidence you have to take a chance on yourself. It can take a long time to be strong in who you are. But once you get there, you’ll never want to turn back.
When you feel great, you look great, and then you do great things! When you do great things, you will never want to stop being yourself. At the end of the day, you are all you have. Let your confidence shine through and it can take you anywhere you want to go.
