Ballerina

Watch Kiara Felder, ballerina with Atlanta Ballet, share how she pursued her dream to become a professional dancer. She began her quest by attending performing arts high school in North Carolina and then going on to train with the Pacific Northwest Ballet for two years, including the summer dance programs. After considerable research, she sent her photo, video and resume to dance companies around the US and was accepted as an apprentice with Atlanta Ballet. She was later promoted to her current position as company dancer. We learn valuable tips for creating an audition tour and her advice to make sure you stand in the front, so that the director can see your personality. Since dancers are athletes, she stresses the importance of a healthy diet in order to be strong enough to perform.
