STEM Director
Watch Amanda Martinez, Executive Director of a nonprofit organization called Latino STEM Alliance. Located in 17 schools and community centers in Boston (and expanding), the Alliance brings STEM programming into after school programs for underserved children. Amanda says STEM education is valuable because the world does not tick without some level of science, technology, engineering or math. Her advice to girls is: Go and be great. Don’t ever stop learning and don’t ever let anyone limit you. Girls should consider a career in STEM because it’s part of virtually everything people do – from farming to using a phone.
