Marine Biologist
Watch Lauren Linsmayer, marine biologist and Ph.D. student at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in San Diego, share how persistence and an early love of marine life led to a summer internship at a marine lab and eventually to her current work studying the effects of ocean acidification on coral reefs. Although a cool part of studying the ocean can include swimming with dolphins and traveling to exotic locations like the Galapagos Islands, the most important reason she became a marine biologist was to help protect and preserve the health of the oceans and marine life.
