After using single words, a child begins to put words together to express
complete thoughts. At first he puts 2 words together. Then he begins to
use 3 words — and finally, bigger groups of words.
Putting groups of words together is a big step for a child. It allows him to
say more about the objects and people around him. He must first learn
to understand how other people do this before he begins to do it himself.
