How to use this chapter:
This chapter describes some of the most common STIs, and explains how to
treat and prevent them. It also describes some other infections of the genitals that
are common, but are not sexually transmitted.
This chapter also suggests many different medicines that treat STIs. Before you
take any medicine, read about how to use medicines safely in the chapter called
“Use of Medicines in Women’s Health” (see page 469). There is also information
you should know about each medicine listed in the “Green Pages” (see page 485).
